Dr. Abdul Wahab Kosai just retired as a Professor in Exercise Physiology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He graduated from the University of Malaya with a BSc in Physiology and the University of St. Andrews, Scotland with a PhD in Exercise Physiology. He started his academic career with UKM lecturing and doing research in fitness, health and stress management.
He has given lectures and and conducted courses to Ministries, Government Departments, Corporate bodies and sports associations and also also presented papers in USA, UK, Netherlands, Brunei, Canada Korea and China. He has also done research work at University College Hospital, London, Cambridge University, Karolinska Institute,Stockholm and University of California, Los Angles,UCLA.
At present Dr.A.Wahab is the national Vice-president of the Persatuan Pendidikan Jasmani, Sains Sukan dan Kecergasan , Malaysia and was the Deputy Chairman of the National Coaching Board of Malaysia.
He is a Consultant in Sports Science at the Open University Malaysia ( OUM ) and sits on the Advisory Board for Sports Science at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia ( UTM ) and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris ( UPSI ). He also gives lectures at UiTM for Masters in Sports Science course and is a Certified Instructor for FISAF ( Federation International Sports Aerobics and Fitness ). Dr Abdul Wahab was a board member of the Lembaga Promosi Kesihatan Malaysia, LPKM of which he was the Chairman of the Sports and Recreation Committee.
He conducts courses in various areas, including physical fitness of corporate employees, stress management, work motivation, excellence in work, leadership, team building, pre-retirement preparations and others.
